Delhi govt moves Supreme Court seeking direction to Haryana for excess water

New Delhi: The Delhi government has moved the Supreme Court seeking a direction to Haryana to supply more water to the cash-strapped national capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government told the Supreme Court that the demand for water in the city has increased significantly due to the scorching heat and the neighbouring state of Haryana should be directed to release excess water for the month.

The Delhi government said it was the responsibility of all to work to meet the water needs of the capital.
