People boycott votes in Amritsar’s Lakhuwal village over murder of youth

Chandigarh: People today closed all polling booths in the border village of Lakhuwal and no voting was allowed to take place in protest against the killing of a youth and injuring four others by some unidentified persons in the border village of Lakhuwal last night.

This morning, some people had given a call not to vote and as soon as the staff started working on the booths, people came and stopped.

There is a lot of anger among the people due to the murder. Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the culprits.
