NDA MPs meet in Parliament complex to elect Modi as leader, swearing-in ceremony to be held on 9
New Delhi: The newly-elected MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are meeting in the Parliament complex today to elect Narendra Modi as their leader.
BJP leader Rajnath Singh proposed Modi’s name in the Lok Sabha as an NDA and BJP leader, which was confirmed by Amit Shah.
Nitin Gadkari and other NDA leaders supported the proposal to make Modi the leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha, the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party and the NDA Parliamentary Party.
The election of the leader will pave the way for Modi to become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time.
Meanwhile, BJP sources said the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 6 pm on Sunday. Apart from NDA MPs, senior leaders of the alliance, including chief ministers, are present at the meeting.
