4 delivery boys arrested in double murder case in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: Four persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of two persons near Bidhipur railway crossing in Jalandhar, police said on Saturday. The four accused worked in Zomato and Swiggy.

Three accomplices of the accused are currently absconding, whose search is on. Soon Jalandhar Rural Police SSP Ankur Gupta will share information in the case by holding a press conference.

In the preliminary interrogation, the accused have admitted that both the accused used to target the delivery boys every night and rob their cash and phones. On May 26, when the Zomato delivery boy was robbed, all the accused were searched. On the night of May 26, they spotted Shiva and his accomplice Babbal near the DAP flyover and started chasing.

Both the accused were surrounded near Bidhipur and thrashed him. Both the accused were severely injured during the beating.

One of them died on the spot. At the same time, the second died in the hospital. Soon the four accused will be produced in the court and taken on remand and interrogated. So that the remaining accused who are absconding can be arrested.
