My inclusion in Union Cabinet is a ‘gift to Punjab’: Bittu

Chandigarh: Ravneet Singh Bittu, who quit the Congress to join the BJP just ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, today said he will act as a bridge between Punjab and Delhi after taking oath as a minister in the new Modi government.

Bittu said he had no expectations of an invitation from Delhi to join the Union Cabinet after losing the election from Ludhiana.

“I had no hope of this invitation this morning. After receiving the invitation, I reached the Prime Minister’s residence, where I was told that I will be a part of Modi 3.0. “My nomination to the Union Cabinet has proved beyond doubt that Punjab is at the top of the prime minister’s preferred states. The BJP has lost all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and yet joining the Union Cabinet is Modi’s gift to Punjab.”

Bittu said he would work as a bridge between the Punjab and central governments to resolve all issues, especially those of farmers.
