CM Mann visits Hoshiarpur on Bhagat Kabir Jayanti: Solar plant to be set up on 400 acres of land in Goindwal Sahib
Chandigarh: A state-level function was organized in Hoshiarpur on the occasion of Bhagat Kabir Jayanti on Saturday.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was the chief guest at the event. He paid tribute to Bhagat Kabir and also discussed changes to be made in the education system and the establishment of a solar plant on 400 acres in Goindwal Sahib.
CM Mann said that while governments typically sell thermal plants, we bought one with a capacity of 540 MW for Rs 1,080 crores. If it were to be built from scratch, it would cost more than Rs 5,000 crores. We secured a deal worth Rs 5,000 crores for Rs 1,080 crores.
He said that the government is pleased that 400 acres of land were provided free of cost with this thermal plant, on which the Punjab government will build the solar plant.
