Polling begins in Jalandhar West assembly constituency

Jalandhar: Polling has begun in Jalandhar West assembly constituency. Winning these elections has become a question of prestige for the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The polling will continue till 6 pm.

A total of 15 candidates are in the fray for the by-election to the Jalandhar West assembly constituency. The by-election is being necessitated due to the resignation of AAP MLA from the constituency Sheetal Angural

Sheetal Angural had quit the AAP and joined the BJP and is now the BJP candidate from the constituency. Jalandhar West (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is a completely urban constituency.

A total of 1,71,963 voters in the constituency will decide the fate of these 15 candidates. These include 89,629 male, 82,326 female and 8 third gender voters.
