Shambhu border: Tussle between farmers and Haryana Police, farmers marching towards Delhi

Chandigarh: The Haryana Police blocked the way of a farmers’ convoy of BKU Sidhupur on its way to Khanauri border to march to Delhi by imposing heavy restrictions on NH-9. There was a tussle between the farmers and the police-administration for about three hours over the blockade. There was a major disruption in traffic arrangements in Dabwali and Mandi Killianwali. There was a situation of jam in the city.

In fact, after five months, the farmers’ front was closed from Dabwali border and left for Bathinda-Khanauri via Dabwali Silver Jubilee Chowk. Fearful of the farmers’ ‘Delhi March’ announcement, the Haryana administration blocked the road. Dabwali SDM Abhay Singh, DSP (H) Kishori Lal and DSP Jai Bhagwan, Killianwali police station in-charge Gurdeep Singh, police station Sadar in-charge Partap Singh reached the spot to interact with the farmers.

The Haryana administration asked the farmers to go to Bathinda via the Malwa bypass in the Punjab region. The farmers said that under which law are they being prevented from passing through Dabwali? After much struggle, the Haryana administration allowed the farmers’ convoy to cross through Dabwali. The inter-state flyover was opened by removing the heavy barriers through the crane and the farmers’ convoy left for Khanauri border in the winning row.
