Bomb threat on Ahmedabad-Bound train turns out a hoax call, accused arrested from West Bengal
Chandigarh: In a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday morning, an Ahmedabad-bound express train from Jammu Tawi was halted in Ferozepur district, Punjab, due to a bomb threat.
The train was stopped at the Kasu Begu railway station, where security forces promptly initiated a thorough search operation.
A bomb disposal squad from the Indian Army was deployed to ensure the safety of the passengers and to conduct a meticulous examination of the train.
After an exhaustive search lasting approximately six hours, no explosive devices were discovered, and the train was declared safe.
Ferozepur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Soumya Mishra confirmed that the call reporting the bomb threat was traced to West Bengal. The Punjab Police, in coordination with local authorities in West Bengal, swiftly detained the caller for questioning.
Preparations are now underway to resume the journey, with passengers being accommodated back on the train. The investigation into the motive behind the hoax call continues.
