Dam bursts in Kullu’s Malana, 40 missing due to cloudburst in Shimla

Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh, cloudburst incidents have been reported at about three places one after the other. About 40 people have gone missing in these incidents while the body of one has been found.

Due to cloudburst, there is a scene of destruction in Kullu, Mandi and Shimla of Himachal. Many houses, schools and hospitals have been damaged.

About 40 people have gone missing at all three places. A body has been found in Mandi. 35 people have been rescued safely.

All schools and educational institutions in Padhar of Mandi have been closed today following the cloudburst incident.

The Meteorological Department had also issued a ‘yellow’ alert on Wednesday for heavy rains at different places in the state since Friday.

Heavy rains are expected to continue in the state till August 6. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said 48 roads have been closed and power services affected due to the recent rains.
