Announces Rs 4 lakh Financial assistance to family

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic incident in Hoshiarpur where 11 persons had drown in water due to incessant rain.

The Chief Minister said that it is very unfortunate that 11 persons from a family of Himachal Pradesh were travelling in an Innova car when they were trapped in rising water in a rivulet during heavy rain. He said that nine members of the family had died whereas search for remaining two is going on. Bhagwant Singh Mann condoled the death of nine persons and prayed to almighty to grant eternal peace to departed souls.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs 4 lakh as financial assistance to the next of the kin of the hapless family. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he had already directed the administration to expedite the relief measures for finding missing persons.
