BSF troops killed Pakistani intrusion trying to enter by international border

Amritsar: During the “high alert” issued ahead of Independence Day, the BSF shot dead a suspected Pakistani intruder who was trying to infiltrate into India from the Punjab border.

The man was spotted crossing the International Border (IB) at Dal village in Tarn Taran district around 8.30 pm on Monday and approaching the border fence and the BSF personnel challenged the intruder but he did not stop, a Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson said.

The personnel on duty opened fire on the intruder and foiled the infiltration. The BSF has sounded a high alert along the 553-km-long Indo-Pak border in Punjab from August 10 in view of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
