Election Commission likely to announce assembly elections in Haryana and J&K today

New Delhi: The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the assembly elections this afternoon. The Election Commission has invited the media for a press conference around 3 pm but did not say which states will announce the poll schedule.

The term of the Haryana and Maharashtra assemblies ends on November 3 and November 26, respectively.

The Election Commission is also planning to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir before September 30. This time limit has been fixed by the Supreme Court.
