Sikh TTE checker attacked by 3 ticketless passengers in Mumbai

Mumbai: A passenger on board a fast-air-conditioned (AC) local train from Churchgate in Mumbai to Virar got into an altercation with the chief ticket inspector.

Sources said that when Chief Ticket Inspector Jasbir Singh was checking the tickets, he noticed that three passengers were travelling in the AC local train with first class tickets.

Singh asked the passengers to pay the fine as per railway rules. Another passenger, Aniket Bhonsle, then started arguing with Singh and then resorted to a scuffle.

When the train reached Borivali station, Singh asked Bhosale to get off the train but Bhosale refused, an official said. He fought with Singh in which Singh was injured.

The passenger tore his shirt and collected fine of Rs 1,500 by Singh from other passengers also fell during the fight. The train came to a halt at Borivali station due to the chaos.
