Supreme Court grants bail to Kavita in Delhi excise case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today granted bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi Excise Policy case. Earlier, the court asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI what “material” they have to prove that BRS leader K.K. Kavita was involved in the Delhi excise policy scam.

A bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Vishwanathan was hearing petitions filed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader seeking bail in corruption and money laundering cases related to the alleged scam.

The CBI and the ED are investigating these cases. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Kavita, sought bail saying the probe against her client has been completed by both the agencies.
