IRMS officer Satish Kumar becomes first Dalit chairman of Railway Board

New Delhi: Indian Railway Management Service officer Satish Kumar has been appointed as chairman and chief executive officer of the Railway Board. Satish Kumar will be the first chairman and CEO belonging to scheduled castes in the history of the board, senior board officials said.

Jaya Verma Sinha, the current chairperson and CEO of the board, is due to retire on August 31 and Kumar will take charge from September 1.
