Free Eye Checkup Camp Organized at DAV College Jalandhar

Jalandhar: The PG Department of Mathematics, DAV College, Jalandhar under the aegis of Bansi Lal Mathematical Society, successfully organized a free eye check-up camp in observance of Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month at the College Dispensary. The camp was a collaborative effort with Rekhi Optics, a renowned name in the field of eye care.

The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, who emphasized the importance of eye health, particularly for students who are often engaged in extensive reading and screen time. Dr. S.K. Tuli, Vice Principal and Head of the PG Department of Mathematics highlighted the department’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its students.

The event aimed not only to provide immediate eye care but also to raise awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups among students. Ms Ranjita Guglani, President Bansi Lal Mathematical Society expressed her gratitude to Rekhi Optics for their collaboration to the college administration and the department for their unwavering support.

200 students and teachers from various departments availed themselves of the free eye checkup services. The camp was well-received by the students and staff.

This initiative by the PG Department of Mathematics stands as a testament to DAV College’s commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for its students.
