AK-47 used to kill Sidhu Moosewala produced in court

Chandigarh: One of the two key witnesses in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala today identified the AK-47 used by the shooters in a lower court in Mansa. This witness was present with Moosewala at the time of the incident. A team from Gharinda police station in Amritsar brought an AK-47 and produced it in a Mansa court.

On July 20, 2022, the Punjab Police had killed Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kusa and Jagroop Singh alias Rupa, who were among the six shooters, during an encounter near the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar district and recovered an AK-47 from them, which was with the Amritsar police since then.

The Punjab Police has submitted a forensic lab report of the AK-47, which confirms that it was used to kill Moosewala.

Advocate Raghvir Singh Behniwal (defence counsel for 19 accused, including gangster Lawrence Bishnoi), examined the eye-witness. However, the lawyer of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria did not appear, after which the hearing of the case was adjourned till September 27.

Advocate Satinderpal Singh Mittal, counsel for Moosewala’s father, said the witness has identified the weapon and the vehicle in the court.

During the last hearing, Gurpreet had identified four shooters – Priyavart Fauji, Ankit Sersa, Deepak Mundi and Kashish alias Kuldeep – as witnesses.
