Three young labourers killed in fire at factory in Punjab

Bathinda: Three young labourers from Shergarh village were charred to death after a massive fire broke out at a mattress factory (heritage industry) near Village Gahiri Buttar on Bathinda Dabwali Road last night.

About a dozen other labourers working there managed to escape with great difficulty and save their lives.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire in the factory was very severe and due to which the factory soon caught fire. Around a dozen fire tenders brought the fire under control after a long struggle.

Narinder Singh (19), Vijay Kumar (20) and Lakhvir Singh (20) of Shergarh village were killed in the fire that broke out in a mattress factory near Village Gahiri Buttar and the cause of the fire is being investigated thoroughly, said Param Paras Singh Chahal, in-charge of Police Station Sangat.
