8 killed, 1 injured in lightning strike in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: Eight persons, including school children, were killed and one injured when lightning struck them in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district on Monday, police said.

Eight persons, including some school children, were killed and another injured when lightning struck them at Jorarai village under Somani police station area of the district around 1.30 pm today, Rajnandgaon District Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg said.

He said the injured person has been admitted to a hospital and officials of the district administration have rushed to the spot.
