Panchayat elections in Punjab to be held on October 15

Chandigarh: The dates for the panchayat elections in the state have been announced by the State Election Commission. According to the information received, the panchayat elections are scheduled for October 15.

Punjab State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhary shared this information during a press conference at Punjab Bhawan.

The last date for filing nominations is September 27, while the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is October 4. Sarpanch candidates will be allowed to spend up to Rs 40,000, and panch candidates can spend up to Rs 30,000.

Chaudhary also stated that there are 1,33,97,932 registered voters in 13,241 panchayats.
