BJP set for a third consecutive term in Haryana as vote counting continues

New Delhi: The vote counting for the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections is underway, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in key trends. In Haryana, the BJP appears poised to secure a third consecutive term, a historic win for the party. The BJP is currently leading in 49 seats, while the Congress trails with 34 seats.

Urban voters in Haryana have largely rejected Congress, with BJP projected to win 21 out of 30 urban seats, while Congress is ahead on only five. In rural areas, the competition remains tight.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance has crossed the majority mark with leads in 52 seats. The BJP, however, is making a strong showing, leading in 27 seats. Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) faces a tough challenge, leading in only two seats, while BJP is ahead in nine.
