BJP forms government in Haryana for the third consecutive time

New Delhi: The results of the 90-member Haryana Assembly elections have been declared, in which the BJP has won 48 seats with a majority, while the Congress has won 37 seats.

The BJP has gained eight seats over the previous assembly elections. BJP’s Naib Singh Saini won from Ladwa and former Congress chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla seats.

The Congress termed the results as “shocking” and said the results did not come as per the expectations of the people. It has also been reported that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government is likely to be held on October 12.

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Ladwa constituency Naib Singh Saini won the constituency by a margin of 16,054 votes.
