Virsa Singh Valtoha resigns from SAD after Akal Takht Sahib’s order

Amritsar: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Virsa Singh Valtoha has resigned from the primary membership of the party following an order from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. In his first statement after the ruling, Valtoha expressed his submission to the decision made by the Singh Sahiban.

“I bow my head and accept the order issued by Singh Sahiban after my appearance before Sri Akal Takht Sahib. I resign from the primary membership of SAD without putting the party leadership in any difficult position,” Valtoha said.

He also acknowledged the love and respect he had received from the SAD leadership, who had valued him as a traditional Akali with panthic ideals.

Earlier, the Panj Singh Sahiban had issued a major decision expelling Valtoha from SAD for 10 years. They also ordered his removal from all party posts within 24 hours, citing misconduct.

Valtoha was accused of secretly recording a conversation with the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and later maligning the Jathedar’s character in the media with baseless allegations, particularly regarding the Jathedar’s foreign assets.

Singh Sahiban said that such actions, without any concrete evidence, could not be tolerated.
