Langah announces son as SAD candidate for Dera Baba Nanak by-election
Chandigarh: Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Sucha Singh Langah has named his son, Sukhjinder Singh Langah, also known as Sonu Langah, as the party’s candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency. Notably, the SAD leadership has yet to respond to Langah’s announcement.
After making the declaration, Langah reportedly attempted to contact other party leaders, including the SAD district president, but received no response.
Speaking to the media, Langah confirmed he would not be contesting the seat himself, leaving his son to represent the party.
In the same constituency, Gurdeep Singh Randhawa, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate, stated he would focus his campaign on the development projects carried out in Punjab and Gurdaspur over the past three years.
Meanwhile, the BJP has fielded Ravikaran Singh Kahlon to contest the seat.
