AAP district leader resigns over ticket denial in Barnala by-election

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its candidates for the upcoming by-elections in Punjab, leading to dissent within the party ranks.

Harinder Singh Dhaliwal, a close associate of MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, was declared the candidate for the Barnala Assembly constituency.

Following the announcement, Gurdeep Bath, AAP’s district president and chairman of the district planning board, issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the party, demanding reconsideration of the decision.

After receiving no response, Bath announced his resignation from both positions.

In a social media post on Facebook, Bath hinted at his plans to contest the by-election independently.
