NIA to probe Chandigarh Sector-10 grenade attack
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now taken over the investigation of the grenade attack in Chandigarh’s Sector 10. The incident took place on September 11, 2024, when two assailants in an auto-rickshaw threw a grenade at a house.
Although no one was injured in this attack, the window panes of the house were broken. After the terror angle came to light, the NIA decided to take it into its own hands.
In this case, the police had so far tracked the auto driver on the basis of CCTV footage. After which the police also arrested both the accused who threw the grenade. The suspects in the case were identified as Rohan Masih and Vishal.
Interrogation of the arrested accused revealed that the attack was orchestrated by Pakistan-based terrorist Rinda and US-based gangster Happy Pasia.
The charge sheet was prepared by the police and it was planned to be submitted to the court soon. But now this case has gone to the NIA, which will investigate the matter further.
