Advocate Dhami re-elected as SGPC President for fourth term
Amritsar: In a significant development, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was re-elected as president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the fourth consecutive term on Monday.
Out of 142 votes cast during the annual general session, Dhami secured 107 votes.
Bibi Jagir Kaur, the candidate from the SAD Sudhar Lehar, received 33 votes, while two votes were rejected. The election process began with prayers at the Teja Singh Samundri Hall.
Additional appointments included Raghujit Singh Virk as senior vice-president, Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar as vice-president, and Sher Singh Mand as general secretary of the SGPC.
