Rajasthan: 12 killed in road accident; 35 injured

New Delhi: At least 12 people were killed and 35 others injured when a bus collided with a bridge at Lachhmangarh in Sikar district here, police said on Tuesday.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was going at a high speed, due to which the left side turn near the bridge was not cut and the bus collided with the bridge, due to which the front part of the bus was badly damaged.

The bus was on its way to Nawalgarh from Salasar. After the accident, rescue operations were carried out and the injured were admitted to nearby hospitals, but 12 of the injured have been referred to a hospital in Jaipur as their condition is more serious.
