Devotees at Banke Bihari Temple mistake AC water for ‘Charan Amrit’, video goes viral

Mathura: In an incident highlighting the power of belief, a video from the Banke Bihari temple in Mathura has gone viral, showing devotees lining up to collect water falling from an elephant idol, mistaking it for “Charan Amrit”—the holy water believed to be from the feet of Lord Krishna.

In the video, a temple visitor can be heard clarifying to others that the water is actually from the air conditioning (AC) unit, not sacred water. “Didi, yeh aisi ka pani hai, yeh thakur ji ke charanon ka pani nahi hai,” the man says, explaining, “Sister, this is AC water, not water from the feet of Thakur ji [Lord Krishna].”

Temple priests have since confirmed that the water is indeed from the AC unit. Despite this clarification, many devotees continued to collect, drink, and sprinkle the water, holding to their belief that it was “Charan Amrit.”

The video has sparked conversations on social media about faith and misconceptions, attracting widespread attention.
