SHO transferred to Police Line in Jalandhar’s Rishabh murder case

Jalandhar: Tensions ran high late Saturday evening near Sakre Bazar Khingra Gate in Jalandhar, as a dispute between two parties escalated into violence.

Miscreants, including Sahil Kapoor, also known as Manu Kapoor Dhillon, and his accomplices allegedly opened fire, resulting in the death of a young man, Rishabh, also called Badshah.

Following the incident, Rishabh’s family staged a protest at Lord Valmiki Chowk (Jyoti Chowk), one of the busiest intersections in the city, demanding justice.

In response, police officials transferred SHO Ravinder Kumar of Police Station Division No. 3, and the family members subsequently agreed to end their demonstration.

As tensions continued, police closed roads from both directions to manage the crowd, with senior officials attempting to mediate with the grieving family and their supporters. After about an hour, the protest was called off.

The family has alleged that the main accused, Manu Kapoor, received preferential treatment from the police, sparking further outrage. They have demanded strict action against police officials involved in the case. Rishabh’s funeral took place at Kishanpura Crematorium at 5 p.m.
