Punjab becomes first state to establish NRI Help Centre
Helpline number 011-61232182 available for assistance
Punjab E News: Punjab has become the first state in India to set up a high-level NRI help centre at Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 3 in New Delhi. This initiative by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to provide crucial assistance to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and other travelers. The center was officially inaugurated on August 8, 2024.
Punjabis living abroad have always elevated the stature of Punjab and its culture globally, excelling in both small and large businesses. Despite their contributions, many NRIs faced various challenges when visiting Punjab. Previous governments paid little attention to these issues. However, with the establishment of this facilitation center, Punjabis worldwide will now have easier access to support while traveling.
The NRI Help Centre operates 24/7, offering assistance to all NRIs and passengers arriving from abroad. Travelers in need of help can contact the helpline number 011-61232182 at any time for immediate support. The center’s officers are ready to assist promptly.
Additionally, two Innova cars are stationed at the airport as part of the Punjab Assistance Centre’s services, providing transportation to Punjab Bhawan or nearby locations. This initiative also offers information on flight arrivals, taxi services, and assistance with lost baggage. In case of emergencies, travelers and their relatives can avail of rooms at Punjab Bhawan, located on Copernicus Marg, New Delhi.
This step by the Punjab government is a significant support measure for NRIs and other travelers arriving in the country.
