Bhagwant Mann government behind Dallewal’s arrest, claims Ravneet Bittu
Chandigarh: Tensions have escalated after farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal was detained by police at the Khanauri border while en route to begin a fast unto death in support of farmers’ demands.
Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu accused the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government of orchestrating the arrest, asserting that it was a deliberate attempt to shift blame onto central agencies.
“The detention of farmer leader Dallewal ji has been orchestrated by the Bhagwant Mann government. No central agency is involved in his arrest. This is purely the work of the state police,” Bittu stated.
He further claimed that the state government was using the situation to divert attention from pressing issues. “The central government always works for the welfare of farmers and does not indulge in such tactics,” he added.
