Jalandhar: Electronic Media Association holds first meeting, takes key decisions
Jalandhar News: The first meeting of the Electronic Media Association’s executive committee, led by president Sandeep Sahi and General Secretary Pawan Dhupar here on Thursday.
Several key issues were discussed, resulting in important decisions.
Pawan Dhupar said that to expand the association, the members have decided to open membership from today. A five-member committee has been formed to approve new memberships, with the membership fee set at Rs 500.
Discussions on voting rights were led by Chairman Narendra Nandan, Chief Patron Paramjit Singh Rangpuri, and Senior Vice President Vinay Pal Zaid. It was agreed that only members with at least 60% attendance in association meetings would have the right to vote.
Senior Vice President Naresh Bhardwaj and Treasurer Manish Sharma highlighted challenges journalists face in the field. A resolution was passed to address such issues collectively, with all members committed to supporting each other on-site when incidents occur.
Likewise, it was agreed that the association would collaborate with district and police administrations to resolve various issues faced by journalists.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Preet Suji, Sudhir Puri, Secretary Swatantra Jangwal, Manveer Sabharwal, Gaurav Bassi, Joint Secretaries Jatinder Sharma, Pawan Kannaujia, Vicky Kamboj, and Praveen Sharma, Media In-charge Atul Sharma, along with Jagroop, Pradeep Sharma, Jatin, and others.
