BJP accuses AAP MLA of extortion with gangster links, seeks action

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA of extorting money with the assistance of a gangster, releasing an audio clip purportedly of the MLA’s conversation with the alleged criminal.

Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia and Delhi Pradesh president Varinder Sachdeva claimed the audio evidence implicated the AAP leader in extortion activities.

Bhatia alleged that the AAP was threatening individuals and extorting money, questioning whether Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and party convener Arvind Kejriwal would demand the MLA’s resignation. He further claimed that failing to act would imply that the extorted money was benefiting the party and its leadership.

The AAP has yet to issue a response to the BJP’s accusations.
