Pakistani intruder shot dead at International border

Amritsar: A Pakistani man attempting to infiltrate into India was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel near the International Border in the Sarhati area of Amritsar sector late last night.

According to BSF officials, the incident occurred near the border village of Muhawa when the man was spotted crossing over from the Pakistani side. Despite warnings to stop, the intruder took advantage of the darkness and continued running into Indian territory.

BSF personnel opened fire to stop him, resulting in his death. The body of the intruder has been handed over to Gharinda police for further investigation.

The BSF said that the attempt was part of ongoing vigilance efforts to prevent cross-border infiltration.
