Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike enters 19th day, health deteriorates
Chandigarh: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike entered its 19th day today at the Kisan Morcha camp in Dhabi Gujjaran village, located on the Delhi-Sangrur National Highway.
Despite his worsening health, Dallewal reiterated that the lives of farmers who died by suicide were far more valuable than his own.
Doctors monitoring Dallewal’s health reported alarming signs after he was brought outside the pandal for supporters to see. His blood pressure dropped to a critical 78/48, raising concerns about his condition.
In solidarity with the movement, farmers announced a series of protests across the country.
A tractor march is scheduled for December 16 in regions excluding Punjab, while trains will be stopped in Tamil Nadu on the same day and in Punjab on December 18.
The protests reflect the intensifying pressure from farmers, with Dallewal’s hunger strike symbolizing their unwavering resolve.
