Only a legal MSP guarantee can end my hunger strike: Dallewal
Chandigarh: Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Director Home Affairs Mayank Mishra, DIG Patiala Range Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Patiala SSP Dr. Nanak Singh, and other officials visited the Khanauri border on Sunday to meet farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal. Dallewal has been on a hunger strike for 20 days, demanding a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops.
Following the meeting, the officials held a press conference. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that, acting on the directions of the Supreme Court, central and state officials urged Dallewal to end his hunger strike, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding lives.
To address potential health emergencies, the DGP confirmed that an ambulance equipped with advanced medical facilities has been stationed near Dallewal. Despite the appeals, Dallewal has maintained there is only one way to end his fast-unto-death—securing a legal MSP guarantee.
