Punjab government ensures food security with Ghar Ghar Muft Ration Scheme
Punjab E News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is making strides in providing relief to the underprivileged through the ‘Ghar Ghar Muft ration scheme.
This initiative aims to ensure the direct delivery of ration to poor households while eliminating corruption and enhancing transparency in the distribution system.
Eliminating Corruption
The scheme has effectively curbed corruption and black marketing in ration distribution. Beneficiaries no longer need to queue at ration shops, saving them time and effort. Moreover, disputes over ration distribution have significantly reduced.
Key Benefits
Over 6.36 lakh ration cardholders have been enrolled in the scheme.
Approximately 25 lakh individuals are benefiting from this initiative.
The distribution is facilitated through 800 Fair Price Shops (FPS) under the Markfed model.
Modern Technology for Transparency
E-PoS machines are being used to ensure transparency in ration delivery.
Beneficiaries can access a dedicated toll-free helpline at 1100 for complaints or queries.
