PM Modi accuses Congress of neglecting farmers and stalling water projects
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress for its approach towards farmers, accusing the party of making empty promises while failing to act. Speaking at an event marking one year of the Rajasthan government, Modi alleged that the Congress neither helps farmers itself nor allows others to do so.
Highlighting the delay in the East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), Modi called it evidence of Congress’ “intentions.” He claimed the party has prolonged water disputes between states instead of resolving them. “The Congress held the ERCP on hold for so long, and this is a clear proof of their intentions,” Modi said.
Addressing ongoing inter-state water disputes, Modi said the BJP seeks to resolve such issues through dialogue, contrasting it with Congress’ alleged tendency to exacerbate conflicts.
During the event, the Prime Minister inaugurated or laid the foundation stone for 24 infrastructure projects worth over Rs 46,300 crore, including initiatives in energy, transportation, and water management.
