SGPC president Dhami meets fasting farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal
Chandigarh: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Wednesday met farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a fast-unto-death for 22 days, at the Dhabai Gujjaran border.
During the visit, Dhami expressed concern for Dallewal’s health and criticized the central government’s lack of action in addressing farmers’ demands. He urged the government to fulfill these demands, emphasizing the need to save the life of Dallewal and ensure that farmers are not forced to endure harsh winter conditions on the roads.
“The stubborn attitude of the central government is deeply concerning,” Dhami stated, adding that fulfilling the farmers’ demands would allow them to return home and avoid spending cold nights in protest.
Haryana leader Jagdish Singh Jhinda also accompanied Dhami and inquired about Dallewal’s condition.
