Another grenade attack targets police station in Punjab

Chandigarh: Punjab witnessed another grenade attack on Saturday night, this time at the police station in Banga Wadala village. This marks the second such incident in the last 48 hours, following a grenade assault on the Kalanaur police post in Gurdaspur.

In the past 28 days, Punjab has seen eight grenade attacks, raising serious concerns about the state’s law and order situation.

The explosion in Banga Wadala startled residents, who rushed out of their homes in fear to discover that a grenade had been hurled at the local police station. Police sirens echoed through the village throughout the night as authorities responded to the attack.

Pro-Khalistan group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has claimed responsibility for the latest attack. A day earlier, another pro-Khalistan organization, Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), claimed responsibility for the attack on the Kalanaur police post.

Following the Banga Wadala incident, forensic teams began investigating the site, while senior police officials assessed the situation.
