Channi meets Dallewal, says parliamentary panel’s agriculture report to benefit farmers

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has lauded the efforts of the Parliamentary Committee of India for submitting a comprehensive report on agriculture.

Speaking during his visit to Dhabai Gujjars, where he enquired about the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Channi highlighted the extensive process behind the report, which involved 17 meetings with 30 committee members.

The report, which has been tabled in Parliament, marks a significant milestone in addressing farmers’ issues.

Channi said that this is the first time such concerns have been raised in Parliament, creating an opportunity for Punjab’s Members of Parliament to unite and advocate for farmers’ rights.

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal expressed gratitude to the committee for its efforts. Channi assured that the report is comprehensive and will immensely benefit farmers in the future, signifying a major step forward for the agricultural community.
