Woman dies, daughter injured after falling from moving bus in Punjab

Chandigarh: A 27-year-old woman lost her life on the spot, and her seven-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries after falling from a moving Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus near Kataron village in Sangrur district. The incident occurred near Dhuri.

The woman’s husband has accused the bus driver of reckless driving, claiming the driver made a sharp turn at high speed, causing his wife and daughter to fall out of the window.

However, the driver has denied the allegations, stating the bus was moving slowly due to foggy conditions and that the woman was trying to assist her child, who was unwell, when the incident occurred.

The injured girl was rushed to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Police from the Sadar police station have initiated an investigation, with officers visiting the civil hospital to gather details. Further action in the case is underway.
