Cold breaks 20-year-old record in Punjab
Punjab News: The cold wave conditions in Punjab and Haryana over the past few days have broken the records of the last 20 years. Dense fog enveloped both the states even today and the cold wave continued to wreak havoc, affecting normal life.

Gurdaspur was the coldest city in Punjab today with a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius.

The previous season was in 2003 when more than half a dozen districts of the state recorded maximum temperatures between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius.
In the first week of 2023, half a dozen districts of the state recorded temperatures of 11 degrees Celsius, he said.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for dense fog and cold waves in both the states from January 5 to 7 due to the western disturbance. The department has issued a red alert on January 5 and an orange alert on January 6 and 7.
