Gurpartap Wadala criticises Sukhbir Badal over recruitment violations

Chandigarh: Gurpartap Singh Wadala, the convener of the Akali Sudhar Lehar, visited Thikriwala village in Wadala constituency and criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leadership, including Sukhbir Singh Badal, for violating Akal Takht orders regarding the recruitment process.

Addressing a gathering, former MLA Wadala accused Sukhbir Badal of conducting the recruitment drive arbitrarily and ignoring the directives of the Akal Takht’s committee.

He said that adherence to the Akal Takht’s decisions would help restore public trust in the SAD leadership.

Wadala remarked that while the Shiromani Akali Dal still holds respect among Punjabis, its current leadership has alienated the party from the people.

He noted that the marginalisation of the SAD has led to the emergence of new Akali factions attempting to bridge the gap left by the party’s decline.

He urged Sukhbir Badal to align the party’s recruitment efforts with the committee established by the Akal Takht, adding that such steps are necessary to regain the faith of the people of Punjab.
