Delhi court quashes defamation case summons against CM Atishi
New Delhi: A Delhi court today set aside summons issued to Chief Minister Atishi in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor.
The order was passed by Special Judge Vishal Gogne following an appeal by the Aam Aadmi Party leader against the magisterial court’s earlier decision.
Atishi’s counsel argued that her remarks were directed at the BJP as a party and not at Kapoor individually.
Taking note of this submission, the court ruled that the alleged defamatory statement did not amount to personal defamation against the complainant.
