ED attaches assets worth Rs 5.58 crore of former Ludhiana Improvement Trust chairman

Ludhiana: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Jalandhar has attached assets worth Rs 5.58 crore, including immovable properties and bank accounts, belonging to former Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) chairman Raman Bala Subramaniam. The action is linked to alleged scams during his tenure.

The investigation began after the Improvement Trust officials submitted a letter to the ED about alleged irregularities in plot allotments under the LDP scheme.

The case was initially probed by Punjab Vigilance before the ED took over three months ago.

In an official statement, the ED confirmed the provisional attachment of Subramaniam’s assets under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

A case has also been registered against Executive Officer Kuljit Kaur and the New Senior Secondary School Society, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana.
