Woman returns from Canada to India in search of boyfriend, files complaint for deception

Amritsar: A young woman from Ambala has returned to India from Canada in search of her boyfriend, accusing him of deception.

The woman alleged that Khushbir Singh, a resident of Suro Para village in Amritsar, cheated on her after they had been in a live-in relationship in Winnipeg, Canada.

According to the complaint filed with Mehta police, the woman claimed that after they returned to India, Khushbir called her to Mehta on January 21 and engaged in physical relations with her on the promise of marriage. However, he later refused to marry her and is now preparing to wed someone else.

Following her complaint, police have registered a case against Khushbir Singh under sections 64 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway.
