Kejriwal alleges BJP using “goons” and Delhi Police to influence assembly polls

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Monday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing its worst-ever defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections and will resort to using “goons” and the Delhi Police to influence the polls.

In a video message on the final day of campaigning, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP was already resorting to unfair tactics in anticipation of a significant defeat. He asserted that despite such efforts, AAP was on track for a historic victory, marking the BJP’s worst electoral performance since its inception.

“The BJP will use its goons and the Delhi Police in a big way to win the elections. They will try to scare voters, especially those in slum areas,” Kejriwal said.

He further alleged that BJP workers were attempting to bribe slum dwellers by offering them ₹3,000 each while marking their fingers with black ink to prevent them from voting. “Take their money, but don’t let them put ink on your finger,” he urged voters.

Kejriwal said AAP had deployed “quick action teams” to counter such tactics and had distributed spy and body cameras in slum areas. “We have installed cameras to catch BJP goons involved in any wrongdoing,” he stated.

The former Delhi chief minister also warned voters that a BJP victory could lead to the demolition of slums. “Selling your vote will be like signing your own death warrant,” he cautioned.
